MEET ROB

I know Guelph well!

Born and raised in Guelph, I have spent most of my 44 years living in our beautiful city. Though I have had the privilege of travelling the world, (mostly for work), nothing compares to the Royal City which I am proud to call home. Currently, I reside in Ward 2 with my wife Natalja, who immigrated to Canada in 2006 from Iceland. We also have a wonderful multicultural extended family that also calls Guelph home.

I am qualified to lead!

With over 20 years of experience working in media and promotions, my professional skills in communication, teamwork and problem solving make me uniquely positioned to actively listen and improve two-way communication between Ward 2 residents and City Hall.

I Will Work Hard For You!

As an entrepreneur for almost 20 years, I have experience with managing production, people and finances. I understand the needs of local small businesses because I run one as well. My company BNR Media Group has helped many local Guelph businesses produce meaningful and effective visual content. I have also produced a local show called Royal City Stories that features stories of everyday Guelph residents doing extraordinary things in our city.

Involved in our community

I love making meaningful connections in our community. The most significant way I have achieved this is the work I have done running the Guelph This & That Facebook Group. Branded as Guelph’s Online Neighbourhood, our platform has helped countless Guelphites connect with one another and find helpful solutions to life’s daily issues. I have helped build community through story telling by cohosting and producing live shows featuring local residents sharing stories of inspiration, courage and hope.

I have also volunteered on the committees of Hope House’s Hope in the Street event and the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital’s Black Tie Bingo fundraiser.

I love being able to serve our community and would be honoured to continue doing so as your Ward 2 councillor.
